A private session is a different instrument for a different job. Before a single bowl is struck, there is a consultation and an energetic assessment cross-referencing the Tibetan Five-Chakra System, which maps specific bowls to specific physical zones, with the Vedic Seven-Chakra System, which maps the emotional and energetic layer beneath. Only then are the instruments chosen, placed and sequenced for the person on the bed.
A sound bath washes over everyone equally. A session is aimed.
A session not a sound bath
A group sound bath is a beautiful thing a room full of people resting inside the same wash of sound. Julia leads them herself, for workplaces and events, and teaches others to lead them.

immersive healing

Reiki and therapeutic sound, woven into one journey. The Reiki comes first up to 60 minutes of deep energetic alignment, gently opening and clearing the field. Then the Tibetan singing bowls are introduced on and around the body, their vibration harmonising what the assessment identified.
A recalibration across all four layers: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. Allow up to two hours the work sometimes runs beyond its clock and is never cut short.

Rooted in the ancient Five-Chakra System of Tibetan medicine, which maps specific bowls and techniques to specific physical zones while the Vedic Seven-Chakra System reads the emotional layer beneath. After the assessment, a precise combination of bowls works through the body’s 3 channels and 5 chakras to clear stagnation, restore balance and awaken vitality.

Not to be confused with Angelic Reiki, a shared lineage taught identically by many practitioners. This is Julia’s own pairing: Starseed Reiki the way she has always channelled, drawing light from countless stars and galaxies to match what each person needs sequenced with American Quartz Alchemy Crystal Bowls through a full seven-chakra balancing. The session opens with auric cleansing and angelic activation messages; the crystalline frequencies then restore alignment, clarity and flow. Every client leaves with a small integration gift. The feet hold pathways to every organ, gland and nerve. Chakra-tuned forks are applied directly to the reflex points, delivering restorative vibration inward stimulating energy flow, releasing blockages, promoting circulation closing with gentle energy healing on the feet. Shamanic Sonic Journey
Home visit option only
Ritual, shamanic drum, gong, and a symphony of shamanic instruments building into a sustained trance state stronger and more expansive than any sound bath. This journey needs your own space, your own ground, your own threshold, which is why it is offered exclusively as a home visit.

You lie fully clothed on the therapy bed; a short guided relaxation brings you down from the day.

Instruments played around the body and, where the treatment calls for it, placed gently on it. Waves of vibration, physical lightness, a quieted mind, emotion softening and moving.

A few minutes with no sound at all so the work can land, then gentle low tones to bring you fully back.

IS SOUND HEALING RIGHT FOR YOU?
Sound healing is safe for the majority of people, and asks nothing of you but stillness.
Please tell Julia before booking if you are in the first trimester of pregnancy, wear hearing aids (removed before the session), live with sound-induced epilepsy, have a pacemaker or implanted medical device, have had recent surgery, are in active cancer treatment, or are experiencing an acute mental health crisis. Most of these are adaptations, not exclusions which is exactly why every session begins with a consultation. If unsure, ask before booking: julia@shinhealing.com.

What is sound healing?
The use of therapeutic frequencies Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, tuning forks, crystal bowls to balance the energy centres, reduce stress and anxiety, move stagnant energy, support emotional release, and guide the brain into deep meditative states.
How is a private session different from a sound bath?
A sound bath is a group experience where everyone receives the same wash of sound beautiful, and Julia leads them for workplaces and events. A private session begins with a consultation and an energetic assessment using the Tibetan Five-Chakra and Vedic Seven-Chakra systems, and the instruments are then selected, placed and sequenced for you specifically. One is ambience; the other is aimed.
Which session should I start with?
Immersive Healing (£175, 90 minutes) Reiki and Tibetan bowls in one journey — is the signature and the recommended first session. For the gentlest introduction, Tuning Fork Reflexology (£85, 60 minutes) is the entry point.
What actually happens during a session?
A consultation, an energetic assessment, a short guided relaxation, then the sound and sometimes placed gently on it followed by silence, grounding, and a debrief. You remain fully clothed and there is nothing to get right.

In Hammersmith Mondays and Wednesdays at Brackenbury Natural Health Clinic (30 Brackenbury Road, W6 0BA), Fridays to Sundays at Grove Neighbourhood Centre (7 Bradmore Park Road, W6 0DT), venue confirmed with your booking and at the Richmond clinic, 111 Kew Road, TW9 2PN, by appointment. Can sound healing help with back pain?
It may help relieve back pain and physical tension. The Tibetan singing bowl treatment includes techniques specifically for joint pain, back pain and headaches. Complementary, not a replacement for medical treatment.
Is sound healing useful for insomnia and chronic stress?
It is a widely used complementary approach to nervous-system regulation, a key factor in both.
How many sessions do I need, and how often?
Energy and sound healing work in layers. One session almost always brings relief, but it reaches the outermost layer. A cycle of 4 sessions is where most people see real, lasting change the surface tension first, then the emotional holding, then the pattern beneath, then integration. That is why the four-plus-one-free package exists. After that, monthly maintains it. Clients in cancer treatment are supported weekly, alongside their medical care.
Do you offer home visits?

Is sound healing safe? Any contraindications?
Safe for the majority of people. Main contraindications: first trimester of pregnancy; hearing aids (remove before the session); sound-induced epilepsy; a pacemaker or implanted medical device; acute mental health crisis. About Julia Shin-Yan Tsang
At the end of her first Reiki course, Julia wasn't sure she could feel energy at all. 9 years later, she has become the founder of SHIN Healing & academy, a CMA-accredited training school, Resident Sound Therapist at Pan Pacific London's Forbes Four-Star Spa, and a trusted practitioner whose clients include fellow Reiki healers, healthcare professionals and internationally recognised actors.
Originally from Hong Kong, Julia trained in Nepal, Bali and the UK. Her work combines singing bowls, gongs and Reiki, drawing from both traditional Eastern lineages and contemporary therapeutic practice. Performed and taught internationally across Ireland, the United Kingdom, Beijing and Barbados, from galleries and universities to luxury wellness spaces. Julia also delivered sound healing within NHS supporting Macmillan Cancer Support, and will shortly join the London School of Massage as a Sound Healing lecturer.
Every treatment is guided by careful assessment, intuition and the belief that healing begins by meeting each person exactly where they are.
